Ighalo has rewarded my faith in him – Rohr

Technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, says Odion Ighalo has proved his critics wrong by scoring a hattrick in the team’s 4 – 0 whitewash of Libya at the Godswill Akpabio international stadium in Uyo on Saturday.

The Franco-German trainer has faced massive crititisms from different sections of the football lovers in the country for sticking to play the Chantung Yatai in form star who failed to hit the net for the Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Gernot Rohr said. “We had the confidence to bring Ighalo, some days ago at a press conference someone asked me why do you maintain Ighalo in the team, I think today he’s given the answer. It’s wonderful to see him scoring the three goals but the three goals came from the team.”

The Super Eagles are billed to face Libya in the return leg on Tuesday October 16 in Sfax Tunisia. The team is billed to fly into the North African country for the encounter on Monday.
